Penta
Chair
The
form of this chair was derived by removing one panel of a
hexagon and joining the remaining edges as a pentagon. The
resulting cone shape intrigued me enough to make a prototype.
Upon
sitting in it, you realize that your shoulder blades align with
the slope of the back two panels and your hips match the sides
equally. It cradles your body in a oddly planar sort of way.
It
is easily disassembled and packs flat. This
is the very first full scale prototype of what I hope will evolve
into an interesting study.
