What if I just let the computer
go?
The above photo is of a prototype pendant light I designed. The body
is made of translucent paper which is glued together in a precise
pattern. This pattern determines its spherical shape and the direction
the light will diffuse. The pattern is also created at random using
my computer.
While fixed
enough to keep the expansion uniform and the paper away from
the
hot bulb,
the pattern
is still
very adjustable. Given the many relationships between glue joints
and the degrees of their triangles, there is still a lot of freedom
to alter the scale of the light, quantity of pockets, exterior
shape of the pockets, and overall quality of light. designer:
